Public Records Request

All public records of the Madera County Transportation Commission (MCTC) are available for review by the public in accordance with the California Public Records Act, Section 6250 and following of the Government Code.

MCTC reserves the right to determine, to the extent and in the manner provided by law, which of its documents are not public records or which of its documents are otherwise exempt or privileged.

The following basic types of documents are considered public record:

Minutes, Resolutions, Agreements
Correspondence and miscellaneous public records
Audit and financial documents
Engineering or Planning public records
Legal public records in possession of MCTC Legal Counsel

Legal records (subject to Attorney-Client Privilege and any other applicable provisions of the law) and Legal Public Records should be requested directly from MCTC’s Legal Counsel: Aleshire & Wynder, LLP, 2125 Kern Street, Suite 307, Fresno, California (559) 445-1580.

Public Records are open to inspection at all times during regular office hours of the Madera County Transportation Commission and every person has the right to inspect and/or be provided a copy of any identifiable public record.

Photocopies are $.10 per single-sided page. An advance deposit may be required for multiple copies as well as staff time needed to fulfill the request. For significant efforts, the requestor may be required to pay a portion or all of these costs in advance of commencing work.

Requests will be filled as soon as possible, but no later than 10 days of the request, unless the response time is extended by the Madera County Transportation Commission’s written notification to you. If for any reason we are unable to provide the information or the information requested is not available, you will also be notified in writing. (See Government Code Section 6253)
